CINCINNATI, OH, JUNE 18 – Interact for Health has announced five organizations in Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana that will receive funding through the Rural Changemaker Grant, the signature grant opportunity of Interact for Health’s Rural Investment Strategy. This is the second year of Interact for Health’s dedicated fund for rural investments; fourteen of the 20 counties in Interact for Health’s service area are considered rural. “We’re eager to continue learning from our partners about opportunities to increase connection and improve health and well-being in our rural community,” said Kate Schroder, President and CEO of Interact for Health. There is one additional funding round in 2025 for eligible rural organizations to apply to the Rural Changemaker Grant. Applications open July 8 and close September 8. To learn more about the opportunity and meet with Interact for Health staff, community members and interested organizations are invited to attend the upcoming Rural Reception on Tuesday, June 24 in Lawrenceburg, Indiana from 4:30 – 6 p.m. at Opal Haus. The five organizations selected for this round of Rural Changemaker funding serve distinct needs but are all related to the vital conditions for health and well-being, the conditions we all need to thrive. The organizations receiving grant funding are:
City of Germantown,KY— $70,000 | Health and Community Connection Through Recreation. Creating a more inclusive, vibrant, and healthy community by maintaining and expanding park features and services.
Letters 2 Literacy, OH — $70,0000 | L2L Rural Health Change. Extending the reach of literacy, health, and economic programming to more rural communities and enhancing partnerships to reach adult and adolescent learners.
Northern Kentucky Children’s Law Center, KY — $30,000 | Holistic Legal Advocacy for Children in Rural Kentucky. Expanding services into rural Northern KY counties (Gallatin, Bracken, Grant, and Pendleton) to provide trauma-informed legal services for youth in rural areas and provide tailored training to Kentucky legal professionals.
One Community, One Family, IN — $70,000 | General Operating Support. Strengthening systems of care and community well-being throughout Southeastern Indiana, particularly for the provision of comprehensive community-based support and responsive training.
YWCA Greater Cincinnati, OH — $70,000 | YWCA Eastern Area Community & Court Services. Increasing visibility, expanding services, and engaging more partners in domestic violence prevention efforts and advocacy services in rural communities in Clermont, Brown, and Adams counties.
