The deadline to apply is September 8 at 5 p.m.

A pre-recorded proposal webinar can be viewed here. Optional, virtual office hours will be hosted on two dates:

Responsive Fund

The goal of the Responsive Fund RFP is to address immediate, emerging, or unanticipated needs within the community, recognizing that opportunities to build resilience require dedicated funding.

An optional Responsive Fund RFP webinar was held on Tuesday, July 7. Watch the recording here and access the slides here.

Applications are open for two areas of support:

1)      Grant Funding for Critical Services – Sustaining Civic Infrastructure: Total investment up to $1.5 million

This funding supports the continuity of critical community infrastructure and services by addressing the time-sensitive operational and programmatic needs. Proposals for funding should focus on critical gaps or unmet needs with deep ties to community relationships. Organizations should demonstrate readiness to deploy resources quickly if funding is provided. This RFP will prioritize funding organizations essential to advancing health justice and youth well-being among our priority populations. Grants are available at three levels: $50,000, $75,000, or $100,000 for general operating or programmatic support. Apply through Interact for Health’s Grants Portal by July 31 at 5 pm.

2)      In-Kind Support for Sustainability Consultations and Capacity Building: Total investment up to $300,000

Participants in this program will receive 1:1 consulting services tailored to an organization’s identified needs. Interact for Health will work with local consultants and community partners based on needs shared by grantee organizations. Examples of needs include the following:

  • Scenario planning
  • Legal support
  • Sustainability and development planning and implementation
  • Diversified funding strategies and implementation
  • Exploring collaboration, partnerships/alliances, shared services, and/or mergers
  • Strategic planning and revisions

Sustainability Consultations will include up to 30 hours of 1:1 support and will begin in late 2026.  Organizations can apply through this form by July 31 at  5 p.m.

The remaining funds, up to $200,000, will be available to invited partners for organizational resilience and workforce well-being. Eligible organizations will receive an email from Interact for Health staff.

Frequently Asked Questions

Please don’t hesitate to reach out with questions at responsive@interactforhealth.org.

How is this funding different than other funding from Interact for Health?

  • This funding is intended to be both responsive to our partners’ needs and aligned with Interact for Health’s mission and priority populations. Applicants should explain how funding would address an unmet need for their organization.

Is this general operating support or project-based support?

  • Responsive Fund Grants will be general operating support.

Can organizations apply to multiple areas of support?

  • Yes. Organizations may apply for multiple funding areas; however, only one application may be submitted per organization per funding area. Please coordinate funding requests within your organization. Each application will be reviewed independently. Applying to multiple funding areas will not negatively affect your chances of receiving funding in another area, and organizations are encouraged to apply for the support that best meets their needs.

Will Interact for Health continue to offer this support?

  • The Responsive Fund RFP is built on previous responsive efforts from Interact for Health, such as Rapid Response Funding, in which $1 million was deployed amid Federal funding rollbacks, and a $72,000 response to SNAP cuts in 2025. Future needs for responsive funding will be evaluated on an annual basis.

Can multiple organizations use the same fiscal sponsor?

  • Yes. Multiple organizations may apply for grant funding using the same fiscal sponsor. Doing so will not affect the possibility of receiving grant funding. Please clearly indicate the sponsored organization's name and point of contact. A fiscal sponsor may submit applications on behalf of multiple organizations within the same funding area and may also submit an application for its own organization. Each application should represent a single eligible organization.

Who is considered a "current grantee" and eligible to apply for Funding Stream 3 (Organizational Resilience and Workforce Well-Being)?

  • A current grantee is any organization that has received funding from Interact for Health during our current strategic plan period (2023–present) and all cohorts of Data for Equity. Organizations do not need to have an active grant at the time of application to be considered a current grantee.
  • Organizations that have received sponsorship support from Interact for Health are not eligible for Funding Stream 3.

What does "In-Kind" support mean for Funding Stream 2 (In-Kind Support for Sustainability Consultations and Capacity Building)?

  • Selected participants will receive sustainability and capacity-building support through Interact for Health's contracted consulting partner. No funds will be awarded directly to organizations.

Can I apply for less than $50,000 through Funding Stream 1 (Critical Services)?

  • NoFunding Stream 1 is intended to address larger critical service needs. Applicants may request funding only at the available funding levels specified in the application.
